From “Knowing” to “Being”
Greetings Frontliners and those who may be interested in this presentation. It is a privilege to be able to share with you in this manner. I am going to share some thoughts, and maybe some challenges, with you around the subject of moving on from “knowing” to “being”. My post may be a bit longer today and my hope is that there will be a large percentage of folk who follow on to the last “amen”!
In the age of so much information that we live in, it is sometimes quite difficult to sort the wheat out from the oats. However, it is not impossible! Our intellect is just as important as any other function the Father has given us. Remember that we were made in the image and likeness of our God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:26 says:
“Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth“
The above verse is well known by anyone who has read the Bible, but it is the follow through of this scriptural truth on this side of the Cross, where we seem to stumble! For instance, the wonderful truth that we are God’s children chosen in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:4): that we are the treasure in the field that Jesus taught about in Matt. 13:44 and that now Father has predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to HIMSELF!!! According to the kind intention of His will.” (Ephesians 1:5)
The above, are just a few of the things that we need to bring back to our remembrance. These are the things that we would normally “know,” deep in our born again, redeemed spirit, and so I leave this here so that you can pursue more of the great and wonderful scriptural truths that teach us about the knowing who we are, and move on to the “being” part, which is the wonder of sonship.
From the time we became born again, we became “one spirit with Jesus”.
“But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him” 1 Corinthians 6:17 and Galatians 2:20.
“Being” is coming to the place in your heart where you no longer allow your past to reach out and control your thoughts, your emotions, your speech, or your meditations. “Being” requires our complete inner attention to the leading and function of the Holy Spirit within us. We are to be as Jesus is now on this earth –
“As He is, so also are we in this world………” 1 John 4:17b
I keep hammering these verses, because of their importance.
Church, we really must consider “being as Christ in this world” a priority; for in the days that lay ahead we will be severely challenged in regards to our faith. If there is no depth, no solidarity in the believing of the scriptures and in our walk of faith, we will be a people who may be found to have no spiritual authority, simply because we have not taken the time to deepen ourselves in God.
I believe the place where we truly begin to understand our “being” is in the secret place of our heart with our Heavenly Father, lingering in His Presence, until we begin to hear His whisper in our spirit. This is a place of spiritual maturity, a place of learning about real, amazing love. Saints, it is a place where all thoughts of self die, all thoughts of position die, all thoughts of greatness die. We go beyond the fivefold ministries as we press on into the fullness of sonship. We have camped around that mountain long enough! I am NOT saying that they are superseded, never! However, we have got ourselves stuck there! So many are trying to be what they are not called to be; do not be one of them!
