The Revealing of The Sons of God
Greetings Saints, I trust that you are all well.
As there is now further uncertainty about when all restrictions can be lifted, now is a good time to be “peace givers” by loving one another and your neighbours. We are truly blessed out here in the Mudge area and to my knowledge we have been covid free even with the wonderful influx of city folk coming here!
Today, I want to share around the wonder of “the manifested sons of God”
Paul wrote in Romans 8:18 and 19
“For I consider the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed in us. (19) For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God”
The immediate thought might be “Wait a bit Paul, are we who have been born again the sons of God?” The answer to that question would have to be “yes”. Ephesians 1:5 says:
He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself……”
So, I am suggesting to you that there is more to being a son of God, wonderful as that is. Paul in our Romans passage puts such passion into it .. we are to be what the whole of creation anxiously longs for! There is to be a revealing or revelation of the sons of God!!
This means that we were never intended to be pew warmers! We are destined to be the expression of God’s heart, carriers of His love, filled with His awesome power, boldly declaring the Good News at every opportunity, raising those from the dead who died before their time, opening blind eyes, unstopping deaf ears, straightening out bent bodys, healing every kind of disease and affliction!! WooHoo, I am getting excited!
This is our heritage and our immediate destiny! 1John 4:17 (you should read from verse 15 )
“By this, love is perfected with us, that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world!!!
Jesus said in John 10:9
“I am the door, if anyone enters through Me, he shall be saved, and go in and out and find pasture”
This is a really exciting scripture! Think about it, where do we go when we go in? And what do we bring out into this manifested world?
From the very second that you gave your heart to Jesus and accepted Him as your Lord and Saviour, you became a new creation! Your spirit was born again. Why? Because sin is a spiritual thing, it had to be dealt with in a spiritual manner by Jesus dying on the cross, shedding His blood for all humanity so that whosoever believed in Him could find forgiveness, salvation and sonship: in Christ. Now, that's something to shout about!
Like it or not saints, we are a mystical people by the express intention of our heavenly Father.
This is the “more” that we should be looking for, this is why “we are in this world but not of this world” My challenge for you this week is to spend as much time as you can, waiting for the Lord and keep doing that at every opportunity until He comes! This calls for perseverance and determination and to not allow distractions to steal your thoughts away from Jesus. I encourage you to read these portions of scripture meditatively.
