Greetings Church! I trust that you all opened your hearts to the Lord with praise as you opened your eyes to this glorious day Tuesday 11th August! I think that affirming our own hearts in the total goodness of God is the greatest act of believing faith that we can do. When we can begin our day with praise instead of groans, it has got to be a big plus for our soul!
I would like, for a few weeks, to look at faith, but not in the traditional way that most of you are familiar with. I would like you to pick up the challenge of walking in a conscious attitude of faith towards God hour by hour, so that every thought becomes a delight to The Father.
"We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith's perfection. His example is this: Because His Heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be His, He endured the agony of the cross and conquered it's humiliation, and now sits at the right hand of the throne of God" Hebrews 12:2 Passion Translation
The key to great faith is to "fasten our gaze onto Jesus". It is not shouting, it is not jumping up and down, it is not reciting scripture; it is the simple, restful, pure action of fastening our gaze upon Jesus! He is the center of our being; we are one with Him and as such, we are His body on this earth - we are "as He is". This means that fear is defeated before it gets to your door, and when fear with all of it's cousins of anxiety, worry, stress etc are dealt with by faith, authority begins to rise up in your heart and you begin to walk as overcomers, no matter what comes along.
Your meditation scripture for this week is Matthew 8:5-10
I would love to have some feedback on your meditation and application of the above. Warren
